[ARCHIVED] TOWN COUNCIL PETITIONS AVAILABLE JULY 1ST FOR THE NOVEMBER 8TH MUNICIPAL ELECTION

Petitions will be available starting Friday, July 1st (9am to 1:30pm) for candidates wishing to run for Town Council.  All potential candidates must reside and be registered voters in the Town of Newton.  Petition packets can be picked up in the Municipal Clerk’s office of the Municipal Building at 39 Trinity Street, Monday-Thursday 9am to 4pm and Friday 9am to 1:30pm. Signatures on petitions must be from registered voters who reside in the Town of Newton.  A person is allowed to sign one petition for each vacancy. There are three (3) vacancies.  

Petitions must be filed by 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 to be eligible for the November 8th Election.

Deadline to register to be eligible to vote in the November Election is Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
