The Department of Public Works (DPW) is located at the end of Moran Street. This department is responsible for all the roads that are owned by the Town of Newton. During the year they conduct routine maintenance on the roads, storm drains and all municipal owned buildings. From Spring to Fall streets throughout Town are swept. In the winter the Department is always busy with removal of snow and ice from the roadways. The DPW is also responsible for the curbside collection of recycables and running the recycling center during operational hours.
Current accomplishments by the Department are the redesign of the Recycling Facility at South Park Drive. The most recent project deals with construction of a new Department of Public Works Facility at the existing garage location.
