Budget hearings are scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00am and Wednesday the 12th at 6:00pm.
Our next regular Town Council meeting is Monday, February 10th at 7:00pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine's office has prepared the minutes from the January 27th Regular and Executive meetings for consideration and approval.

This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.
COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS
- Commission/Board Vacancies – a list has been included in your packet of the current vacancies on our Boards/Commissions/Authorities.
- Variance Appeal – Karen Bell submitted a letter indicating she will be in attendance at Monday night’s meeting regarding a variance required for the relocation of her business to 128 Sparta Ave. Her letter and a list of the fees have been included in your packet.
There is one ordinance for introduction:
Ordinance 2014-2 will authorize us to exceed the 2014 Municipal Budget appropriations limit and establish a CAP bank which is an annual procedure.
S.I.D. Feasibility Study – Gina Thomas, Jen Credidio, Esq., and Jessica Caldwell will be in attendance to discuss the study.
Resolution #22-2014* will authorize the execution of an agreement for legal services with Ursula Leo, Esq., related to the application to be filed with USDA Rural Development for the 20” transmission line along Fox Hollow Lake.
Resolution #23-2014* will authorize the Town to submit a funding application to USDA – Rural Development for the construction of the 20” water main at Fox Hollow Lake.
Resolution #24-2014* will authorize the execution of a Developer’s Agreement and Municipal Reimbursement Agreement for Block 22.05, Lot 13, with Martorana Enterprises, LLC.
Resolution #25-2014* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
Applications* there are two applications for your consideration:
An application for a Special Permit for a Social Affair from the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council to held on March 1st from 7-10pm and May 3rd from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at 133 Spring Street.
An application for an on-premise raffle (50/50 & raffle) from the Sussex County Community College Foundation, to be held April 12th from 9:00am-6:30pm at One College Hill Road.

Morris Lake was 21 inches below the top of the spillway on 2.3.14.
Dr. Kimberly Iozzi called my office today advising that NJ’s First Lady, Mary Pat Christie will be at the Newton Housing Authority on Thursday, February 13th at 11:00am with Pass-It-Along.
I met with Deputy Mayor Elvidge, Wayne McCabe and Nancy Woods to discuss plans for our 150th Anniversary celebration.
I was elected chairman of the Statewide Insurance Fund this week. I appreciate the support of my colleagues and look forward to another successful year. This year the Fund celebrates its 20th Anniversary!
McGuire Redevelopment Plan is moving forward with lots of interest.
Hicks Avenue Redevelopment Plan Amendments should be forthcoming.
The pre-bid meeting was held on Thursday for the main pool filters. There were 4 contractors present for the meeting. The bids come in on February 26th.
