Our next Town Council meeting is the Reorganization meeting on Tuesday, July 1st at 6:00pm.
A reminder that municipal offices will be closed next Friday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Happy 238th Birthday America! There will be no newsletter next week.
I will briefly review the items on the Reorganization Meeting agenda:

OATH OF OFFICE FOR NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS
The first order of business will be the swearing in of the newly elected officials. Kevin Kelly, Esq. will swear in E. Kevin Elvidge and Lorraine A. Read, RMC will swear in Wayne Levante. Sandra Diglio will not be in attendance and will be sworn in separately by the Clerk.
DESIGNATION OF TEMPORARY MAYOR
The next order of business is for the Council to designate a temporary chairperson to oversee the remainder of the meeting.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION OF MAYOR
Kevin E. Kelly, Esq. will swear-in our new Mayor.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION OF DEPUTY MAYOR
Lorraine Read will swear in our new Deputy Mayor.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine’s office has prepared the minutes from the June 23rd Regular and Executive meetings for your approval.
COMMENTS BY TOWN MANAGER, COUNCIL, AND MAYOR
If none of you have any items that you wish to pull from the Consent Agenda, the Mayor shall call for one roll call vote for all of the Consent Agenda items. The first few resolutions on the consent agenda will reaffirm actions pertaining to the balance of the 2014 calendar year as follows:
Resolution #124-2014* will reaffirm the banks designated to be used as depositories of municipal funds.
Resolution #125-2014* will reaffirm the newspapers to be used for the publication of legal advertisements.
Resolution #126-2014* will reaffirm the regular meetings of the Governing Body to be held on the second and fourth Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted) for the remainder of the year.
Resolution #127-2014* will designate Town officials who are authorized to sign checks for the municipality.
Resolution #128-2014* will reaffirm that the CFO and/or Finance Director is the individual authorized to sell Bond Anticipation Notes.
The rest of the items are a mix of annual business and regular business:
Resolution #129-2014* will appoint the Mayor as a Class I member of the Planning Board.
Resolution #130-2014* is the appointment of the Class III member to the Planning Board. By ordinance this must be a member of the Town Council, traditionally it is the Deputy Mayor.
Resolution #131-2014* will name the Town Manager as the Hearing Officer in all matters of dispute.
Resolution #132-2014* will appoint members to the Ad Hoc Redevelopment Team.
Resolution #133-2014* will appoint Wayne Levante as the Town Council liaison on the Economic Development Advisory Commission.
Resolution #134-2014* will appoint Sandra Diglio as the Council liaison to the Historic Preservation Advisory Commission.
Resolution #135-2014* will confirm and establish cash and change funds.
Resolution #136-2014* will authorize payment for damages incurred to a municipal employee's vehicle during work hours.
Resolution #137-2014* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
Resolution #138-2014* will approve Change Order No. 2 for the filtration system renovations at the Memory Park Pool. Change Order No. 1 was for an extension of time, which was granted administratively.
The Mayor will appoint the Town Manager as a Class II representative to the Planning Board.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake was even with the top of the spillway on 6.23.14.
I want to thank Mayor Ricciardo for his service to the Town. I appreciate the staff members that came to his reception on Monday evening.
Interviews will soon be conducted for the vacant Court Attendant and Deputy Court Administrator positions. I will keep you posted.
Councilman-elect Levante and Deputy Mayor Elvidge joined me in a conference call this week with an individual responsible for the inception and success of the Red Bank Special Improvement District. Next visits for my team will be Morristown and Westfield!
Several of us attended the yearly Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council luncheon in Randolph.
We met with representatives from Andover Boro and Andover Township to start the conversation regarding DPW regionalization. Our consultant, Linda Murphy, will be coming in next week.
I scheduled a meeting with the head of the New Brunswick redevelopment agency (DEVCO) in the next few weeks. I am looking forward to hearing about how they coordinate the multitude of projects currently underway.
