APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Lorraine's office has prepared the minutes from the June 8th meeting for consideration and approval.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This is for those that wish to address the Town Council but do not plan on staying for the whole meeting. There is a note to the public on the agenda to please keep their comments to a maximum of 5 minutes. This allows ample time for all whom wish to speak and keeps the meeting moving forward. The public can speak on any matter.
COUNCIL & MANAGER REPORTS
1. Introduction of the winners of the Miss Newton, Little Mr. & Miss Newton contest.
2. Presentation of a Proclamation to the 2015 Senior Citizen of the Year, Nancy Woods.
There are three ordinances for public hearing and adoption:
Ordinance 2015-18 is a fully funded capital improvement ordinance in the amount of $45,000 for improvements to the Newton Fire Museum.
Ordinance 2015-19 is an ordinance revising Section 307-55 of the Code to designate a portion of Spring Street as one-way. The Town has already adopted an ordinance for designating Spring Street as one-way; however, the NJDOT requires an ordinance for strictly Spring Street for their approval.
Ordinance 2015-20 is a bond ordinance appropriating funds for the Trinity Street paving project.
Resolution #91-2015* will authorize the purchase of six (6) new SCBA packs for the fire department.
Resolution #92-2015 will authorize credits due water and sewer accounts.
Resolution #93-2015* will renew the Club liquor licenses.
Resolution #94-2015* will renew the Plenary Retail Distribution liquor licenses.
Resolution #95-2015* will approve the purchase of a 2016 Ford F-250 Super Cab 158” WB for the DPW.
Resolution #96-2015* will approve the purchase of a 2015 Ford F-450 4WD Reg. Cab 141” WB 60” CA XL Mason Dump Chassis for the DPW.
Resolution #97-2015* will approve the purchase of a Galion Mason Dump Body and related equipment for the Mason dump truck authorized in Resolution #96-2015.
Resolution #98-2015* will approve bills and vouchers for payment.
Resolution #99-2015* will renew the Plenary Retail Consumption liquor licenses.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake was 8 inches below the top of the spillway on 6.15.15.
Preconstruction meetings were held on Wednesday for the Spring Street Project and the Trinity Street Traffic Lights Project. Construction will begin on or about July 13th for Spring Street. Construction on the Trinity Street Traffic Lights will begin the week of June 29th.
Routine business discussed at the SCEDP lunch meeting this week. Note that the Town is up for an award next week at the annual awards luncheon.
Taco Bell was deemed conditionally complete at the TRC meeting this week so their application can now be heard at the July Planning Board meeting!
Dunkin’ Donuts was approved for the Quick Mart location across from Thorlabs – once final resolution is approved it should be up in 3-6 months!
Councilman Levante and I attended the annual Sheriff’s CrimeStoppers function at Farmstead.
