Thanks to everyone who participated in the annual Tree Lighting at Town Hall Monday night!
THE WEEK IN REVIEW
Morris Lake was 40 inches below the top of the spillway on 12.14.15.
The meeting coordinated by Chief Richards and Center for Prevention and Counseling on our efforts to combat the scourge of drug addiction in our community/county went very well. Next meeting on same will be in the New Year.
Zufall Health Center is interested in placing a location for their business in Newton – since Neighborhood Health Center is no longer involved in our community, this would be a welcome addition for those that need certain medical services.
The Newton Prime Time Seniors (NPTS) Holiday luncheon at Lafayette House was festive and well attended. Many thanks to NPTS for the invitation to same and all they do for our senior citizens!
The Planning Board chose not to revote the Taco Bell application and also approved the Paterson Avenue Redevelopment Plan Amendment which would allow production/retail/consumption for a brewery. The next step is for the Town Council to formally amend the Plan via the traditional ordinance process.
I completed all ten (10) of my department head annual performance evaluations – many thanks to all of you for open and honest 360 degree feedback and for all you do for Newton.
RPM (Newton Town Centre) is continuing their work on Eastern Plaza Lot #5 and the adjacent property in preparation for their groundbreaking next summer – stay tuned!
We met today with Xavier on our social media goals for 2016 including the new online business directory, 3D computer animation short, etc. Much more to come in the New Year!
Have a great weekend! 4 Hours to Star Wars! These are not the droids you’re looking for!
Yours for a Better Newton,
