Our next Town Council meeting is Monday, August 8th at 7:00pm.

I will be on vacation next week and Debi Millikin will be Acting Manager in my absence.

The Morris Lake Reservoir was 6 inches below the top of the spillway on 7.25.11.

The Merriam Avenue watermain project continued this week with the tie-ins at Pine Street and Merriam Avenue.  Thorlabs made their waterline connection into the new watermain on Wednesday.  The watermain is almost to Gardner Avenue and there is approximately 1,600 feet of new pipe in the ground.

An inspector from DCA was here on Wednesday regarding the complaint received on 39 Halsted Street.  The inspector indicated that Mr. Fraser was given until September to complete items he was cited for from their inspection in May.  She also obtained the current issues through Fire Prevention and Property Maintenance and would be back in September for a follow-up visit.

The Elevator bids were opened on Thursday.  They have now been forwarded on to VDA for review and recommendation.

Today is Ann Rosellen’s last day as an employee of the Town of Newton.  On behalf of all employees I want to wish Ann the best of health and happiness in her retirement!

Enjoy your weekend!
