We will be closed on Monday, October 10th for Columbus Day.
Our next regular Council meeting is Wednesday, October 12th at 7:00pm. There will be one volunteer interview at 6:45pm that evening as well.

Chief Richards and I received the Government Officials of the Year award this week at a breakfast sponsored by TransOptions. My thanks to everyone involved in the Safe Streets campaign last year – get ready for 2018!
A productive meeting was held this week with representatives from NJDOT regarding the paving project on Route 206. We look forward to further discussions with them on how to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety in Newton.
Terri and I conducted the first meeting on the Civic Plus website redesign project. Same will take approximately eight (8) months to complete.
No RFP’s for advertising on the senior bus were received.
My annual budget message has been disseminated to department heads. Time to think 2017!
The RPM pre-construction meeting is being held tomorrow (Friday) – I will provide updates next week on same since this is being written on Thursday…
